Well known US player Surgica1 grouped up with philogl to release a frustian's like server config for L4D2.

I've later become involved in the project by packaging and releasing a couple of version with bugfixes, updates and such.

I've also managed to set up the official google code page where the project is located, so if you want to know more about it just click the link above.

The main object of the config is to balance the game by removing medkits, defibs, special ammo types, reducing the ammounts of item spawns and so on. There are also reduced spawn timers and for all the hardcore l4d2 players, there's an additional "special infected buffs" config that you can enable, which improves some of the abilities of the infected.

Even though there has been some discussion about the actual need of the additional SI improvements, i would reccomend everybody to test out the changes before expressing their opinion.

Many of the teams i've played against were happy with the changes added to the game and it seems like confogl is being accepted well by the community.

I've added the config to all of our servers, and it's reloading automatically, so if you want to try it out without installing it first on your dedicated nest go ahead and use one of these servers :)

Last but not least, the config has a dedicated steam group, which i encourage all of you to join to get updates and to eventually find pcws with people that want to play with the config.

Demolytion and Pyromaniac Inc. now officially owns a Left 4 Dead Server! This server is hosted on the WantedGov Machine, and i want to thank them for making this possible. They have been very kind and professional so far.

I just completed the transaction for this month's server bill (w00t!). I payed 11EU, and i now need your donations.

Donations are not and never will be obligatory, and the minimum amount of money to consider a transaction as donation is 2EU.

I still havent' figured out who wants to donate and who doesnt, so i'm going to post here, on the mailing list, and on the steam group, this message.

I thought a bit about it and i will try doing some differentiation between users who pay and users who don't.

Clan members who want to donate will receive access and admin rights to the server. I am modding the server to grant admin permission to single members, currently there are three groups of people who have been defined:

1. Clan Members: The list of feature these members will receive is as follow:
   • Reserverd Slot
   • Kick Players
   • Immunity of 20
   • Google apps account including email address (nickname@dpi-clan.org), docs, calendar and sites
2. Donating Clan Members: The list of additional features they will receive is:
   • Reserved Slot
   • Generic Admin
   • Google apps account including email address (nickname@dpi-clan.org), docs, calendar and sites
   • Kick Players
   • Unban Players
   • Slay/Harm Players
   • Change Maps
   • Special Chat Privileges
   • Start or Create votes
   • Change Server Password
   • Turn Cheats On and Off
   • Immunity of 50
   • Additional web-interface control panel (to restart the server and mod it) (only on request)
3. Server Admins will simply the "All Flag" flag, as described here.

I am truly putting a lot of effort keeping the website and all the other services up and running, in addition to this i am making my way through TONS of guides and howtos about server administration and modding. I am not asking for a huge amount of money, 2EU is less than the price of a 0,25cl glass of beer, so, it would be really nice to have quick responses here.

After all this chit-chatter let's get to the donations info :P

I am D4rKr0W, one of the minds of the DPI Steam Clan, and the webmaster of it.

We are a young group of gamers, we mostly play Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2 and Unreal Tournament 3.
This clan was born as a simple group of friends, created by Astone, and evolved as soon as Atrox and I jumped in and started using the DPI name tag.

There's not that much to know, a part from the fact that we are as friendly as you could get and we always enjoy matches where everybody has fun.

Fun, that's right, because it's the main reason we all play, isn't it?
